This application was designed on a A1200 with a 8MB RAM Card.If it fails
to work on a 'lesser' system,I apologise. However 'resizing' the graph data
after loaded in does eat up some memory I've found. This is still a work in
progress,Although at the moment it's really just fine tweeking it, and
adding any little things I dream up,just to see if it's possible really.
What software was used:The excellent, even if understanding the manual
at times is awkward - BLITZ BASIC 2.1
How long it took:So far, hardware and software development - 18 months
Otherwise, give us some other details (like what it needs to run, etc.):
This 'should' run on a A1200 with 8MB ram.It does on mine anyhow. For the
best example of how 'detailed' this program can be,I suggest you go
to your PREFS/SCREENMODE drawer and select the highest resolution possible
on your system(1200x512 on mine). This will allow 1200 odd bits of data to be
displayed instead of say 256 on a 256 wide screen.A bit obvious but there
you are.
If you select the No. of graphs you want loaded to 3,and then load 310899,
then 250899,then the other RR6 file, you will see three training rides I've
done around a identical route.Excuse the drop out at the end of 310899,but
the batteries failed.
The other two files is data I processed with a much more primitive version
of my bike thing.
The various buttons on the main screen are mainly self explanatory. The 'Y'
button is the most recent addition. You'll notice as you 'drop' the division
ratio, the graphs drift up the screen. This isn't the main purpose of
dropping the division ratio, merely a 'flaw' which I've resolved for
myself, but didn't managed to include in this example version.
The main purpose of dropping the diviz is that 'differences' in separate
training rides become 'larger'
With the two files AUG 98,try playing with the Cx buttons. This allows you
to align data which is 'mis-aligned' due to data drop out.
This is mainly to show exisiting AFormat readers how flexible BLITZ BASIC
is, and for eighteen quid who could ask for more.Unlike PC's programming
languages - extortionate licensing fees etc.Very anti-innovative,but there
you go.That's why I still prefer my Amiga to the ever updating PC.
If anybody has any thoughts regarding this 'still in progress' version of
'CYCLOPRO' - please don't hesitate to drop me a line.Unfortunately I'm still
not on the Internet.Ho hum.
Yours looking forward to the new Amiga - Mark Gormley.
